“Most of what I know of London I’ve learnt through my feet. I’ve lived and worked my whole life in London, and for me it’s all about the walking. Oh yeah, and beer. Mustn’t forget politics, and I’m a Chelsea FC fan. So it’s the walking and beer and politics and football. I like music and cinema as well. As Tom Petty said: I got my own way of talkin’, but everything is done with a southern accent where I come from – though in truth he was probably singing about Gainsville or Baton Rouge, rather than Lewisham or Kingston upon Thames.”
