Cassandra Solon-Parry

Cassandra Solon-Parry lives in London, and always has. (Except for a brief stint at Leeds Uni where she was president of the creative writing society and hosted many a Blueprint Open Mic.) She first took up writing when Andrew Motion gave a speech at her school and misleadingly made it sound really easy. Shortly afterwards she was commended by Andrew Motion and Jackie Kay in a poetry competition put on by London Metropolitan University. The rest is (quite a short and relatively uneventful) history. She is also a singer and might occasionally be noted as the girl in indie band Bear Driver.
